SPORTS INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT

SUMMIT & EXPO INDIA 2026

19 - 20 November, Bangalore

"From Vision to Reality: Transforming The Indian Sports Ecosystem to Host The World."

Green Grass Field

Event Profile

India, under the visionary leadership of The Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, The Hon’ble Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, The Hon’ble Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Smt. Raksha Nikhil Khadse, and the senior leadership team at the Sports Authority of India, has a clear ambition and a collective dream: to welcome the world to India for the 2036 Olympic Games.

This vision reflects India’s growing stature in global sport and its aspiration to create a world-class sporting ecosystem that inspires athletes, empowers young people, and showcases India’s capabilities on the global stage.

India’s ambition to host the 2036 Olympic Games is backed by a significant expansion of its sporting infrastructure, athlete development, and public investment.

India has been selected to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, further strengthening the country’s position as a potential global sporting host. The Government of India has also increased the sports budget to ₹4,479.88 crore, an 18% increase from the previous year, reflecting its strong commitment to the development of sport.

In addition, the Union Cabinet, under the leadership of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, approved a historic ₹36,441 crore outlay for 2026–2031 to strengthen the Khelo India programme and support National Sports Federations. This represents a major step towards building a stronger pipeline of athletes and creating the sporting ecosystem required to compete and host at the highest international level.

Khelo India Expansion: An allocation of ₹29,054 crore for 2026–2031 will support the expansion of grassroots sporting infrastructure, athlete identification, training, and development across the country.

National Sports Federations: ₹7,387 crore has been earmarked over five years to strengthen elite coaching, sports science, access to foreign expertise, and international exposure for Indian athletes.

Sports Goods Manufacturing: A dedicated ₹500 crore initiative has been introduced to strengthen domestic sports-goods manufacturing, promote research and innovation, and enhance India’s capabilities in sports equipment design and production.

Together, these initiatives demonstrate a clear long-term commitment to transforming India into a global sporting powerhouse and strengthening the foundations for India’s vision of hosting the 2036 Olympic Games.

The Sports Infrastructure Development – Summit & Expo India 2026 is a premier international platform dedicated to advancing smart, sustainable, and future-ready sports infrastructure. The event will convene policymakers, sports authorities, infrastructure developers, architects, investors, technology providers, and global experts to accelerate innovation, investment, and collaboration in India’s rapidly growing sports ecosystem.
